Saab Avitronics, Sweden, and
Sekai Electronics Inc., United States, have entered into a cooperation where
Sekai will market and sell the Saab Avitronics’ Digital Recording System DiRECT
series product portfolio in the US market.
The DiRECT mission recording and
data transfer system records the vast amount of information captured in a
modern aircraft, forming a key component in an NCW system. Evaluating this
information, whether for training or in combat, will maximize the experience
from each flight and enhance the efficiency of ensuing missions.
DiRECT is a universal, digital
mission recording system for airborne applications in fixed, as well as rotary,
wing aircraft. All important information –video, audio and data – can be
acquired and recorded by DiRECT. Mission recording for intelligence, training and mission track record is
important for the effectiveness of an aircraft system. Digital data such as flight and mission data
as well as maintenance information, can also be recorded in separate data files.
Mission
plans can be retrieved and loaded to the avionic system.
Saab Avitronics brings the
experience as a pioneer in digital video and data recording with unparalleled
insight in avionics integration. As airborne recording systems are becoming increasingly
integrated with the aircraft, Saab’s knowledge is more valuable than ever.
DiRECT systems are currently in
operation on several platforms ranging from high performance jets to
helicopters.
